Frances Butler





Frances is an independent producer aka GAP IN THE FENCE. She specialises in interdisciplinary creative collaborations, particularly centred on music / sound, and visual arts. Frances has worked in the NGO and government arts sectors for over 25 years, in management/financial administration, project delivery, research and curating roles in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. Throughout her career, she's championed best practice in governance and arts administration, and capacity building in the arts community.

Recent production 'A Tasmanian Requiem' - an oratorio for brass and voice mourning the Black War and its aftermath.
Currently working on: 
- 'Behind the Tasmanian Requiem' - documentary by Michael Gissing. Role: Executive Producer. 
- 'Shaped By Trees' a film opera by Constantine Koukias (IHOS Opera) and Biasino William Pezzimenti. Role: Co-producer.
